Our first official blog reveal!
The scope of our Holly project in Marietta, Georgia was to refurnish the dining room and entry to make them reflect our clients personal style. Even though this wasn't a gut renovation, we prioritized updates that would be the most cost effective and enhance the elements they already had.
The Dining Room:

One thing we focused on was adding to the existing trim work that was installed when they built the home. Initially, it ended at an awkward spot on the wall, essentially cutting the wall in half. We installed another layer of trim and unified the walls by painting everything the same color, a warm white.
We further brightened up the space by mixing wood tones and using a vintage rug with a neutral base over the dark floors. The clean lines of the white oak dining table pair beautifully with the texture and airiness of the caning on the chairs. We kept the styling minimal with a found pottery and a large scale piece of art. The addition of custom draperies really softened the space and made the room feel complete.

The Entry:
The entry doesn't get tons of natural light, but we loved the idea of using wallpaper to add personality and a wow factor in the entry. We brightened up the space by painting the beadboard and beams on the ceiling the same color as the walls. Even with the addition of navy wallpaper, it feels brighter than it was before. The oversized mirror also helps to reflect light from the dining room and is extra functional by the front door.

One of my favorite changes was how we created a moment right at the front door by swapping a recessed light for a beautiful brass pendant, layered in some artwork and placing a natural rug directly in front of the door.
New light fixtures were another obvious upgrade. We used a combination of finishes and layered the lighting with a new chandelier, pendant, and wall sconces. Perfectly placed sconces make a space feel layered and intentional. We accessorized the console with a vintage pot, art, coffee table books, containers for keys, etc., and a stool.
